Why I Don’t Post Anything

Originally this blog was started to defend America’s efforts in Iraq and our leaders who started everything over there.  Despite what exteme leftists might say, things are going great in Iraq and every day grows closer and closer to a time when a large force of troops isn’t needed there.  The war is drawing to a close.

Also, Democrat leaders conceded a great deal of talking points in the whole “Bush lied” meme.  The Rockefeller report outlines all of the “Bush lied to get us into war” statements and concludes what everyone already knew: That the intelligence at the time reflected what Bush was telling congress and the American people.

This blog isn’t a news resource for Amarillo or any kind of revenue generating entity.  Since 2004 nothing has happened in Amarillo than anyone outside of it cares about and sitting around here waiting for stuff to happen is boring.  In other words, I have better stuff to worry about than coving a potential news event.

This blog has primarily been about my opinion, cataloging it, and sharing it.  I refence this place as my knowledge base to rebut liberal buffoons constantly.

The only thing left to post about is the upcoming election and other stuff that happens that I care about.  Right now all I care about is shooting, hunting, and earning enough money to be able to thoughroughly enjoy my time off of work.   As such, I post very little.  Politics concerns me little, especially after the Heller decision, and with Palin as McCain’s pick for VP, I doubt BO is going to get very far, especially after the unscripted debates when Johnny tears BO’s stuttering self a new asshole.

I will be there to gloat on November 5th to gloat or, to blog anew making sure every Democrat hears constantly about Biden’s 5 deferrments and talking extensively about any slip up BO makes to make him look stupid, doing to them what they have done to us.  Yes, very shallow I agree, but I am not above it.  As I have said elsewhere, someone must be willing to play in the mud with the filth if good is to triumpth.

    Re: the Palin candidacy

I submitted a comment a little while ago over at PTS in response to Prodigal Son’s post entitled Putting America Last. Now that they’re moderating their comments, it might not be posted for awhile (if at all), so I thought I’d try to reconstruct it here:

Uh, I don’t know how to break this to you PS, but Sarah Palin has been the governor of Alaska since December 2006, and as such is responsible for a multi-billion dollar budget.

Does this pic resemble enough exec experience to run a country of 300 million? How big a budget has Senator Obama presided over?

And regarding national security, Governor Palin is the commander of the Alaska National Guard. How many troops has Senator Obama commanded?

C’mon PS. You can to better than this. You’ve got a little over 24 hours to define Sarah Palin before the American public gets to see her first hand. Maybe you should do a post on her criminal record: In June 1993, Palin pleaded no contest in Dillingham District Court to a fishing violation — failure to register as a set gillnet permit holder.

Here’s a great article by Thomas Lifson, editor and publisher of American Thinker, entitled Sarah Palin and the Two Americas that expresses my sentiments so well that there’s really nothing left to say, except: Give ‘em hell tonight, Sarah!

Here’s another great article about Sarah Palin from the 10/15/2007 Newsweek, entitledNow This Is Woman’s Work(Read the last two paragraphs).

It’s amazing – less than 10 months ago, when she was no threat to Barack Obama and the Left, the press portrayed her as a crusader, fighting against corruption and “Big Oil.” Now that she’s McCain’s running mate, she’s “trailer trash.”

Thank heavens for the Internet, where we can catch this kind of hypocrisy.

The internet is quite a blessing.

Thank you for posting the links, I appreciate it, good reads all.

I am pressed for time or I would comment more.

One last article, and then I’m done for the day (I promise!)

A Shameful Week for the Press by Yuval Levin at National Review Online.

After her performance last night I don’t think any more defense is needed.

  7. Curious Texan says:

Very true, celtictexan. Yet the Left is continuing to attack her. Like Clarence Thomas nearly two decades before, Sarah Palin is the Left’s biggest nightmare: a smart and articulate member of an “oppressed class” who doesn’t need the Left’s largesse and rejects their ideology out of hand.

The Left, along with their surrogates in the media, have tried attacking Governor Palin for her perceived inexperience, they’ve attacked her family, they’ve tried to make her out to be a hypocrite and a religious fanatic, corrupt and mean-spirited. But what they don’t realize is that this just strengthens her resolve and heightens her admiration among those of us who identify with her.

Mike Huckabee put it best last night when he cited the Old Testament story of Joseph who, after his brothers sold him into slavery, eventually rescued them from famine:

“As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive.” (Genesis 50:20; NASB)

It’s still anybody’s guess how this will all end up. Eight days ago, when McCain let loose the Hail Mary pass that is Sarah Palin, he was fourth and long, deep in his own terrtory. It’s now first and ten near mid-field. The next big play is the debates: McCain-Obama on September 26 and Palin-Biden on October 2. By this time next month, we’ll have a much better idea of how the race will turn out. The pressure on Palin will be incredible, but so far at least, it seems that’s when she’s in her element.

I’ll close with a quote from Jonah Goldberg I heard on Bill Bennett the morning after Palin’s acceptance speech:

“She was put on this earth to do two things: kill caribou and kick butt. She’s all out of caribou.”

I was just visiting wgy.com (the website of radio station WGY, the 50,000 watt blowtorch of the Northeast out of Schenectady, NY) and noticed an online poll with the question: Who is the stronger V.P. candidate? I figured, “Well, this is New York state – the home of Charles Schumer and Hillary Clinton, where even Republicans tend to be left of center (e.g. Rudy Giuliani).” So I thought I’d help out Governor Palin and cast my vote for her, figuring the results would be skewed to the Left. The results blew me away:

    Joe Biden
    11.48 %

    Sarah Palin
    88.52 %

You’re right, celtictexan. She doesn’t need anyone’s help, least of all mine.

  9. celtictexan says:

That is really funny. I at first thought this just a political ploy. It was just a stomach churning event when I heard the name Sarah. I thought more PC bs.

This was when he first announced her. I was listenng on the radio. I had the thought s above but after just a few words from her I really got excited for the first time in this long campain. The convention speech really sealed it for me. I was thinking McCain knows what he’s doing after all.

Unlike you I really have thought this was going to be a landslide for McCain from th begining. I just don’t believe there are so many ignorant and gullible people as is reflected in the polls. The #1 and 3 biggest libs in teh senate. All obama’s marxist and racist upbringing (wright). There is just know way the average American would buy it. More later.

  10. celtictexan says:

That was sloppy above as I was at work and in a hurry. Forgive all the misspelling and all.

More good news for our side today. McCain has fired off a new round of add”s about Obama and his sex education desires for 5 yr. olds. It was pretty much as detailed as sex education can get. Very heavy on how wonderful homosexuality is of course.

So anyway, this election is in the bag. The PTS’ers might as well stay home. It’s hard to grasp how stupid libs they are. They had the presidency in the bag this year. All they needed to do was put fwd someone like Clinton who on the surface appeared middle of the road, and it would have been us that would just stay home.

Anyway with all I listed above and with all that continues to dribble out about O’s past, despite the best efforts of the lib media, Palin or not this election is ours. (IMHO)

I know in the beginning all I could do was scowl and worry. Now I’m always smiling.

Very well said by the way. Brief and dead on right.
