The Liberal Who Came to His Senses

As fantastic as this sounds, this is real.  I would give some detail, but I don’t want to ruin anything.

    This is funny. But the really funny thing is that it is on the daily show. They must have been booing him afterward. Probably got death threats from peace loving libs.

    I think the combination of the Mamet opinion piece and the Comedy Central video represent an interesting and hopeful phenomenon: liberals (or in some cases ex-liberals) who are willing to examine their own inconsistencies, and in so doing, laugh, learn, and change as a result of the introspection.

    I think the reason that so many liberals are either unable or unwilling to do this is because for many of them politics is their religion. One need only look back to the despair expressed over the results of the 2004 election and the elation over the results of the 2006 election to see how invested many are in political (as opposed to spiritual) salvation.

    The classic example of this was back in November 2006, when someone over at PTS glibly posed the question to us conservatives:

    How does it feel when all crumbles down around you?

    What a terrific example of mirror logic! For those who’ve forgotten (or weren’t reading Ivory Dome back then), here’s a link to my response, entitled Elections and Alarmism.

    Government cannot be all things to all people. In trying, what you get is the efficiency of the post office coupled with the compassion of the IRS. The fact that some liberals are beginning to realize that is an encouraging sign.

    It’s because they are stupid, emotionaly driven perverts.

    Well, this is a public and family oriented site. So I have to contain myself a bit.

    But here is a good example of stupid, emotioanly driven Lib Perverts;

    I was thinking about the latest revelations about Spitzer and McGreavy, and something occurred to me that I’d thought of before.

    Sex is like model airplane glue – it can be used to bind a marriage together or repair the broken pieces; or it can be used for something it was never intended – to get high, often with tragic and unintended consequences.

    There’s a lot of “huffing” going on out there, and not all of it by liberals.

    Yeah I know, it is one of man’s greatest low’s. But at least on the conservative side they are removed, not applauded, and defended.
