UPDATE:
Heh heh:
I suppose you’ve made it big…
…when the majority of the hits on your blog come as a response to criticism by a right-wing blogger who’s upset you hot linked his picture and all the hits come from a site called – ar15.com which is a also known as weaponsforum.com and ak47.net – I wonder, should I now be concerned for my life because of an internet faux pas? I suppose that I should thank God that none of the ‘hits’ from that site came from my home state (which in all honesty says a lot) and that they mainly came from old Confederate border states as well as Texas (the main culprit) California (surprising and yet not) and Virginia.
Nothing will wake you up in the morning more than noticing a disturbing trend on your blog traffic report from automatic weapon toting (notice I didn’t say gun-toting) persons apparently distressed over ‘usage violations,’ who because of said violation spend long periods of time on your website looking deeper and deeper at various pages.
Well, this group has labeled me a radical liberal – and although I might dispute the “radical” part, I am a liberal and damn proud of it – let’s roll!
*On 2/29/08 – I learned something new – hotlinking. That site will give you an explanation. Now that I know what hot linking is and what it can do, I’ll be more cognizant of it in the future. How did I learn about it, well the above picture of HRC looking scary was on someone’s blog – I found the image via Google and just copied the image URL that Google gave to me. Apparently the Image was on the site of a rabid fascist in Texas – a place where no one would ever expect to find a rabid fascist and he decided instead of kindly e-mailing someone who is a relative novice to blogging and educating me to post nasty, hateful comments – which thankfully I’ve removed, as well as replace “his image” with one more disparaging, and quite frankly filled with inaccurate information (apologies to regular readers). But no worries – I discovered the faux pas and corrected it.
1. Of course, I am the fascist and have received no apology.
2. BO [heh, a presidential candidate we can call BO], does support partial birth abortion and has voted many times to infringe on the people’s right to bear arms.
3. Typical liberal retardedness seeing anything that has to do with a gun and thinking their lives are in danger.
4. Checkmate!
*****************I was messing around with the site and noticed that someone was stealing bandwidth by linking to one of my uploaded photos. I watch out for this stuff because the result can be quite funny.
The offending blog is Leonardo”s Notebook by Mattheus Mei on his post, Don’t make me angry, you wouldn’t like me when I’m angry. If you scroll down a ways you’ll see a nice litte block of text I whipped up.
Because I am sure it will soon be removed, I preseved the “changes” I made. Here is the heading of the post and evidence of support of Obama:
Stolen picture before:
Stolen Picture After:
How long do you think it will last?
That is funny. I didn’t even know thing’s like that went on. I wish I had half the knowledge of these dad-blasted infernal contraptions you do.
Really does say allot about libs though. Money (taxes) or bandwidth they are liars and thieves.
It’s kind of like this post at PTS. A pretty good post in some ways. The writer admits that the modern school system is dunbing down our kids, but fails to acknowledge it to be the fault of libs.
After making some intelligent points he then proceeds to be exactly what he speaks of and gets dumb.
Thieves, liars, backstabbers, confused, dazed, mixed with a smidgen of truth but still out of touch with reality. All pretty much in one post. Pretty funny really.
I usually skip over calamus venenum’s posts because of too much garbage in the posts and it is usually whining about the newspaper. I read this one on your recommendation, though.
As usual with liberal rants, there is not solution to their problems, just complaints. If they were to offer a solution, I bet they would want the government to do something about it.
If they were to offer a solution, I bet they would want the government to do something about it.
Yeah, that is exactly what the post is leading up to. On one hand there is recognition of the problems in school, on the other hand refusal to recognize the reason as being government interference. The main agenda of schools at the demands of libs at the federal level has become social brainwashing, conditioning, and experimentation.
They believe that keeping smarter and gifted children in the same class as dumb kids, will somehow make the dumb kids smart. They refuse to admit, even though I’m sure that they see, that it’s only causing the smart kids to appear dumb as they don’t get the chance they need to learn.
It really is a sad situation for our children. And your right, the answer will be more social tinkering and government regulation.
Well after reading the link he provided about stealing bandwidth it doesn’t seem so bad, if he truly didn’t realize what he was doing. I suspect I’m guilty as I’ve posted much here from other sites like that. (I think) Anyway, you rabid fascist, it looks fixed now. LOL
I posted the following comment at Leonardo’s Notebook. Since you’ll probably never see it there, I’ve copied it here for for edification and entertainment:
************************************************************************
I seriously doubt this comment will never make it past your moderation, but what Bodacious at ivorydome.us posted about Senator Obama supporting partial birth abortions is in fact true and not, as you claim, “inaccurate information.”
None other than the Old Gray Lady herself, the New York Times, reported this in an April 18, 2007 article entitled Reaction to Court’s Abortion Ruling Falls Along Predictable Party Lines.
If you scroll about half-way down, you’ll find this:
The three Democratic presidential hopefuls leading in early preference polls — Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois and former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards — opposed the decision. [Emphasis added.]
…Obama weighed in with support for the dissenting opinion of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who wrote that the ruling “tolerates, indeed applauds, federal intervention to ban nationwide a procedure found necessary and proper in certain cases by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.”
As the blog author, you certainly have the right to censor this; we at Ivory Dome have had to moderate our comments too, when they started getting really abusive. But please don’t delude yourself into believing that Senator Obama doesn’t support partial birth abortion.

Anyone taking bets whether my comment will get through? I didn’t think so.
(P.S. Your link to Leonardo’s Notebook has one too many http’s in it.)
Of course I’m not going to apologize. I stand by my response and stand by the assertion that your actions were — well, an overreaction. But I would like to say thank you to Curious Texan for presenting information in a civil manner and being open to dialogue about an important issue that we as a country have been wrestling with for much longer than even I’ve been alive on this earth and which probably won’t end in the near future or with “just one more justice” on the court.
You fellows out west have yourselves a good night and have fun voting tomorrow.
Leave it to a left winger to not apoligize for stealing. I guess it is too much to ask for a lefty to take some responsibility for their actions.
I will say thanks to you, though, because your mistake did, even if for a couple of days, increased the visitors to my site. Thanks! You got lots of visitors, too. Bad publicity is good publicity. I did you a favor.
I went easy on you. Just think if I threw tubgirl, lemonparty, or gotse.cx up there then reported you. Blogger might have put your blog in the shitter pretty fast, especially if I asked my buds to report you for it.
Here is some advice: man up, apoligize, take this as a lesson learned, and do some research on the topics you want to discuss before you make yourself look like even more of an ass.
And for the record, I don’t care if you support Obama, Hillary, Satan, David Duke, or whoever. I would at least hope you would think issues through and come up with a solid foundation on why you believe in everything you do. With your comments about this site and ar15.com I kind of doubt you do that, so maybe this lesson will mean more to you in the long run than just not to hot link.
You forgot two girls one cup.
That is a video, I can’t make videos show up on your site if you link to an image. Come on now.
don’t forget video stills, I’m sure there’s some peculiar person out there with stills.
Probably so, but I am too lazy to do that, let alone watch that video again. ewww. Besides, one scene from a video like that wouldn’t lend to effect of the full video. I guess an animated gif would work.
As in many things, such as hotlinking,
, I only just recently learned of 2 girls 1 cup, a misfortune that put a damper on my celebrating New Years 2008. You’re right, a single scene still would probably just confuse people without lending to the entire effect. An animated gift – that would be disgusting.
