Well, the auction is over. The letter sold for $2,100,100.00. I wonder if the 41 Democrat senators (either individually or collectively) will take Rush up on his original challenge to show they support the troops and match that amount.

Don't hold your breath!

When I was out at lunch today I heard the most amazing thing! Rush received the original letter sent to the head of Clear Channel and signed by the 41 Democrat senators. He's auctioning the letter off on eBay, along with a titanium brief case, made by Haliburton no less!

The letter will be on eBay for one week, and proceeds from the auction will go to the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps out the families of fallen Marines and Federal law enforcement officers.

Rush has offered a challenge to each of the 41 senators who signed the letter that if they really support the troops to match whatever funds are raised through the auction.

Don't hold your breath!

Here's a link to the eBay page:

Takers anyone?

I wonder why lib's don't attack this guy?

Jesse Adam Macbeth (b. Jesse Adam Al-Zaid, [1] in 1984) is a civilian anti-war protester who falsely claimed to be an Army Ranger and veteran of the Iraq War.

It's the same old tired liberal tactic of isolating an out-of-context quote and building a case around it out of whole cloth. Which reminds me of an exchange I had at PTS last summer:

There's nothing like going back to the primary sources in their entirety to debunk their arguments. But be prepared; when you do, you're opening yourself up to all sorts of ad hominem attacks.

I recently saw an example of this kind of cherry picking (this time from the conservative side) that shows that you can essentially make anyone say anything (celtictexan should get a kick out of this):

Of course the difference is, everyone (liberals included) understands that this is an out-of-context sound bite. Why they can't see that in Rush's case means one of two things: they're either woefully ignorant or totally disingenuous.
