Pot calls kettle black

Sunday, May 20th, 2007

Last August, Ivory Dome conducted an informal poll on is the worst U.S. president.  At that time, the consensus seemed to be Jimmy Carter.

http://www.ivorydome.us/2006/08/11/worst-president-ever-discussion-on-diggcom/

Now that same President Carter has voiced his opinion.  The worst U.S. president (at least as far as international relations are concerned)?  George W. Bush.

http://apnews.myway.com/article/20070519/D8P7O79O0.html

I personally have a hard time rating any sitting president (Republican or Democrat), because at least theoretically, as long as a president has time remaining in his term, he can still redeem or doom his presidency.

But I really have a hard time with a former president dissing any of his successors, especially if that former president was himself an abysmal failure.  If I, as a private citizen, offer my opinion about any of the 43 U.S. presidents, it does nothing to either enhance or degrade my reputation.  But for the arguably worst U.S. president to call a sitting president the worst is a little too self-serving, IMHO.

By offering his services to causes like Habitat for Humanity, President Carter started off well as a former president and was on his way to rehabilitating himself.  But critiquing President Bush in such denegrating superlatives, even if justifiable, make him appear petty and bitter; former presidents have traditionally shown more class than that.

Show a little class, Mr. Carter.

Washingtons’s Paradox of the Liberal and the Conservative (Tortoise and Achilles)

Saturday, May 19th, 2007

Washington of the Potomac (circa 1776) is credited with creating several famous paradoxes, but by far the best known, is the paradox of the Liberal and The Conservative.  (The Conservative being the greatest document ever written, the American Constitution, the Liberal representing the forces of obfuscation) The Conservative has inspired many great writers and thinkers through the ages, but it has also been hated by the Liberal, who are purely emotional in their actions.

The original goes like this:

The Liberal challenged The Conservative to a race, claiming that he would win as long as the Conservative gave him a small head start.

The Conservative circa 1965 laughed at this, for of course he represented the vast majority of voters, whereas the Liberal was basically unheard of.
How big a head start do you need?” he asked the Liberal with a smile.

“The voteing rights act of 1965, and a major change to the immigration act along with eight Liberal judges that will work with us to misrepresent you, the Constitution,” the latter replied.

The Conservative laughed louder than ever. “You will surely lose, my friend, in that case, as I am represented by hundreds of Judges that are strict constitutionalist” he told the Liberal, “but let us race, if you wish it.”

“On the contrary,” said the Liberal after the deal was struck, “I will win, and I can prove it to you by a simple argument.”

“Go on then,” The Conservative  replied, with less confidence than he felt before. He knew he was the superior philosphy, but he also knew the Liberal was sharper when it came to deciet, trickery, and palatable lies.

“So,” began the Liberal, “you have given  me  ten distortions of you  as a head start. Would you say that you could work around and not be defeated by those ten laws, very quickly?”

“Very quickly,” The conservative affirmed.

“And in that time, how many more misrepresentations of you will I be able to achieve, do you think?”

“Perhaps a single additional misrepresentation of me– no more,” said the Conservative after a moment’s thought.

“Very well,” replied the Liberal, “so now there are eleven law’s between us. And you would catch up and work around that also very quickly?”

“Very quickly indeed!”

“And yet, in that time I shall have gone a little way farther and added a new misreprsented constitutional law, so that now you must catch up to that also, yes?”

“Ye-es,” said the Conservative slowly.

“And while you are doing so, I shall have misrepresented even further, so that you must then catch up to even more,” the Liberal continued smoothly.

The conservative said nothing.

“And so you see, in each moment you must be catching up, I – at the same time – will be adding a new distortion, however small, for you to catch up to again. Eventally there will be nothing left of you”

“Indeed, it must be so,” said the Consevative wearily.

“And so you can never catch up, you are defeated” the Liberal concluded smugly.

“You have tricked me again, as always. Your deceit wins,” said the Conservative sadly – and conceded the race.

Of course this is a paradox,  that is not a paradox as the Liberal thru treachery and deceit is hiding the fact that eventually there will be a tie, at which time the Conservative would easily repair the damage done by the Liberal.

When will the people realise that they are the victom of a sham? A sham perpetuated by a Liberal judicial system. A system that hates the first three , and the biggest words of the constitution. We the People, we the  intellectual and moral majority (good bye Jerry Falwell) of these United Sates of America.

What we face these days is actually a reverse of Washington’s paradox. Misled by liberal treachery the Constitution runs unknowingly, backwards to fullfill the predictions of the Liberal. How easily could we escape this cesspool of multiculturism, but for the trickery of the Liberal and their control of the judiciary. More cries the Liberal. More laws and taxes and we will legislate away all of societies ill’s. An emotional philosophy that is  making things much worse. How easy it would be to demand strict interpretation of the constitution. Only that will solve the vast majority of societies ills.

Few realize, how close we are to the crossroad of Liberal victory. A victory based solely on deception and lies. A victory that will, eventually and irrovocalbly, throw the USA into a downward spiral that will forever snuff out that greatest of all documents, The American Constitution. No person, group, culture, or race should be above,  excluded from, or allowed to circumvent, this greatest of all concepts.   Will we concede the race?  Will we be fooled by Liberal trickery into giving up before there is even a fight?

We must fight and then,” We the people“, will win. But be complacent, keep believing the lies of the Liberal, and we will all lose, and the real paradox will be that it is the Liberal who will lose the most.

This site is good for keeping count of the illegal immigration issues. It’s the first palce I’ve seen that really attemps to lay out the big picture in one place.

Showcases of Liberal Dishonesty: Skewing Views on Self Defense

Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

One thing that grinds my gears is the seemingly intentional misrepresentation of conservative’s position that gun-free zones should not exist on college campuses and other areas.  The conservative position is that individuals who posses a concealed carry license should be allowed to carry on campus.  Some conservatives go so far as to say that it should be mandated that Teachers be armed.

Liberals, such as Greg Sagan, misrepresent this position.  They think that when I say gun-free zones shouldn’t exist that I mean all students and teachers should be issued a firearm for carrying on campus.  If that were the case I would agree with the liberal assertion that campuses would be more dangers, but being that the liberal interpretation of my position is a falsehood I think my actual position would make the campus safer.

Persons with a concealed carry license, in Texas at least, are required to have 10 hours of training with the handling of firearms and Texas laws on concealed carry and use of deadly force.   Whether or not that much training is adequate for people to be relied upon to act responsibly in high stress situation is debatable.  I would say they need more training.  This situation is kind of like how an individual can take a course and get their motorcycle license but they are not ready to be among the traffic, safely riding a motorcycle.

I believe, with adequate training, people should be able to carry almost anywhere they choose.  I agree that some places should be off limits such as in the courtroom as Sagan suggested.  I am undecided on whether or not to allow concealed carry in a 51% type place.  I would imagine someone carrying concealed would be disallowed to consume alcohol, but how is a bartender to know?

Where I think the law should change would be to allow people with adequate training be allowed to carry their concealed firearms onto educational institutions.  Texas law forbids this currently.

Mr. Sagan does need to bone up on his handgun laws, however.  He asserts that Churches and hospitals should be a sanctuary and “must be free of everyone’s gun.”  (Wasn’t VT a “sanctuary” before that terrible Monday last April?  As I have asserted here and elsewhere, that kind of thinking gets people killed.  Yes, those places will be sanctuaries from other law abiding citizens, but unless people are allowed to protect themselves lunatics will prey on sanctuaries)  Anyway, Texas Law says people can carry concealed into a church, hospital, or amusement park unless a special sign is posted stating otherwise.

So not only does Sagan not want people with adequate training be responsible for themselves but also for handgun laws to be more restrictive than they already are.

As I heard the news that Nicolas Sarkozy won the election in France, and how he planned to overturn the failed socialist policies and give the French back the freedom to create wealth,  a book from my childhood came to me:  The Little Red Hen.

For those who aren’t familiar, this is a  fable about a hard working hen who couldn’t motivate the lazy barnyard animals (namely the duck, cat and dog) to pitch in and help her.  When it was time to enjoy the fruits of her labor, they were more than willing to join her, but she said no.Here’s one version of this wonderful story:

http://www.bres.boothbay.k12.me.us/wq/nnash/WebQuest/little_red_hen.htm

It’s been a good fifty years since I first heard the story of the Little Red Hen, but its message wasn’t lost on me.  I don’t know if this allegory is still taught today (or if it ever was in France), but its lesson of self-reliance is as valid for countries as it is for individuals.

Let’s all hope that the duck, cat and dog don’t kill the Little Red Hen and steal her bread, because when it’s gone, there’ll be no one left to make any more.

A sad Parallel

Monday, May 7th, 2007

This is another one of those e-mails that come through the loop. But as I’ve been through nearly this exact same thing my self I thought it worth posting. Only thing I would apply it to all welfare not just illegal’s.

I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food. But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue. Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table…everywhere. Then some of the birds turned mean: They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket. And others birds were boisterous and loud: They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food. After a while, I couldn’t even sit on my own back porch anymore. I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio. Soon, the back yard was like it used to be…quiet, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.

Now lets see…our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, free education and allows anyone born here to be a automatic citizen. Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; small apartments are housing 5 families: you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor: you child’s 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn’t speak English: Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to press “one” to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than “Old Glory” are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties. Maybe it’s time for the government to take down the bird feeder.

Cinco De Mayo

Sunday, May 6th, 2007

Well the celebration of Mexican dependance has been in full swing all weekend. Every where I look, everything I hear, it’s all Cinco, Cinco, Cinco. And I’m sick of it.

I was looking at the roots of this and guess what? Something that has never been much thought about in the USA by these illegals that flood us, was started by the Corona Beer Company. It’s not even much thought of in Mexico. It’s just an effort to sell more beer.

Another company pushing multiculturalism to make money.

Now I suppose some good could be said in some ways, as the roots of this stupid drunk fest might have been good for the Confederacy. If Napoleon would have had his way, much needed supplies would have been provided to the South during the civil war. But none of that gets mentioned in any of this “celebration” these days

Had it gone good for the French perhaps the South might have won or at least fought to a draw and become a independent Nation.

Then again it could be argued that this incident might be responsible for the US becoming the most powerful country on Earth. Something I glad of. Better yet it could be said that the defeat of the French ensured the end of slavery. None of this gets mentioned in any of the efforts to sell more beer and make a buck.

Either way, what we see now, is a joke and a scam, much like Kwanzaa, that works for corporate interest. And worse a multi cultural tool that attempts to raise respect for Mexicans and obscure Western culture.

I saw this article in the globe. A girl interveiwed on the news Sat. night, the Cinco queen elect, was asked what it was all about. Her brillant answer, ” It’s part of my heritage. I’m suppose to celebrate it”.  I wondered where was her sign was. An older Mexican man asked the same question kind of danced around the edges mentioning Mexico’s independence.

Truth was none knew what Cinco De Mayo was about. None knew of Napoleon’s hatred of the US and his desire to help the Confederacy. Nor is it mentioned the Texas born General Zaragoza, a Spainard, who led the defeat of the overconfident French, went on to become dictator of Mexico. Nope to busy drinking beer.

Monday I’ll get up, look at the local news and see the crime that results from this farce being thrown by the City government of Amarillo. I’ll see traffic fatalities caused by drunk illegals. (well that’s nearly every week end but it will go up this week end). And I’ll be even more sick of it.

This is America. We already have plenty of corporate greed and ignorant liberals pushing multiculturalism. We don’t need more.

Is Civility Dead?

Friday, May 4th, 2007

Everyone is familiar with the Imus incident, but yesterday morning (hopefully former) radio talk show host Michael McGee in Milkaukee even outdid Imus, saying that he was glad that the 87-year-old mother of Charlie Sykes (a rival talk show host) died in a house fire:

http://michellemalkin.com/archives/007450.htm

I find this comment in the same league as what Rivethead (a/k/a Clint), one of our local bloggers in Amarillo, wrote a few months ago:

http://www.ivorydome.us/2007/02/27/par-for-the-course-for-liberals/

What is wrong with these people?

UPDATE(by Bodacious): Vyse, a co-worker of Rivethead/Clint (possibly even Clint) at AQHA, has defended Clint’s personal attack against me in the comment section of this post.  Be sure and witness real, unhinged liberalism perpetrated by this villan.

Taking the Cleaners to the Cleaners

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

Have you ever taken your pants to the dry cleaners, either for cleaning or alterations, and they ended up losing your pants?  How much to you think they should reimburse you?  The price of the pants?  Maybe a little more for the inconvenience?

How about $65,462,500?

That’s how much DC Administrative Law Judge Roy Pearson, Jr. is suing Custom Cleaners for.  Here’s the story:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/04/25/AR2007042502763.html?hpid=news-col-blogs

Custom Cleaners is owned by Ki, Jin and Soo Chung, Korean immigrants residing in Virginia.  If I were Judge Pearson, in light of recent events, I’d be very careful not to alienate any Korean immigrants living in Virginia.

Judge Peason was appointed to a two-year term in his current position on May 2, 2005.  He’s now due for a 10-year appointment.  After you’ve read the Washington Post article linked above, you might want to ”Ask the Director” of the Office of Administrative Hearings whether Judge Pearson’s abuse of the justice system is appropriate for someone in his position of authority.  Here’s a link to the form:
