"Par for the course" for liberals?

On a day when an attack intended to kill Dick Cheney fails and several liberals are disappointed that the attack failed another liberal poster out there made a comment on the PTS site saying he hopes my baby dies.

Criticism is nothing new to me, of which this commenter has a lot to dish out on numerous topics.  As can be expected I have a few criticisms of my own as well.  That’s all fine and good.  I ignore his criticism because he has no reading comprehension.  I am sure he, a long with other people who ignore my criticisms are of a similar opinion of me.

What I don’t do is play games with people’s families.  As you may have read earlier my wife, pregnant at the time, died this past October.  This human refuse has the gall to use that as an attack against me.  It made me sick when I read it.

I am aware this mental deficient may not have known of my wife’s pregnancy or even of her death.  He knows now and all I ask for is an apology.

To strike at the larger issue, what is it with liberals and death fantasies of people they disagree with?  Even then what is the reasoning behind saying you wish someone’s baby were dead when it really happened?  My child died and this trash hopes for it.

How does it feel clint, to know your hopes are fulfilled?

Bodacious, I haven’t read your blog in months and I never read the obits. I had no idea you had suffered such a loss. No matter how much I might disagree with somebody’s world view I wouldn’t wish the loss of a spouse on my worst enemy. I for one find Clint’s remarks to be inexcusable. My condolences.

Thank you, very much, I appreciate your words a great deal.
No skin off my back that you don’t read here, I don’t expect you to. I don’t read the obituaries either.
Thank you for denouncing his comment.

Bodacious, I am not sure I fully understand what is going on here. But: you know that I don’t comment on Ivory Dome. You also know that I don’t delete comments from PTS.

In this case I am doing both.

My sincerest apologies for any hurt I enabled.

  4. Thank you, blogarillo and spacedark, for distancing yourselves from the incredibly cruel and insensitive remarks that were posted on your blog. Thank you also, spacedark, for taking them down. My heart absolutely aches for you, Bo.

One of the down sides of the blogosphere is the ease with which people anonymously engage in argumentum ad hominem. We’re all guilty of it from time to time; the problem arises when obviously unstable people believe this gives them license to escalate it to this level.

Using personal attacks for hyperbole is often tempting, but every time we do, we run the risk that it will lead to something no one ever intended.

I’ve thought for some time that the perpetrator of this horrible deed was wound a little tight, but now I really fear that his words could even escalate to violence. If anyone reading this knows him personally and could intervene, I’d be grateful.

Whether here or at Panhandle Truth Squad, let’s all vow to disagree without being disagreeable.

I’ve been away for awhile guess I missed some things. From the sound of it though, I didn’t miss anything that would surprise me if it came from PTS.

Oh Clint the meth using child abuser I should have known.

  7. Curious Texan says:

C’mon, celtic – as I said in my earlier comment, “Using personal attacks for hyperbole is often tempting, but every time we do, we run the risk that it will lead to something no one ever intended.”

So far, it appears that Clint/Rivethead has been behaving himself the last couple of days. Hopefully, the extent of his own unbridled rage was a personal wake-up call. But we’ve all seen where taunting him can lead. We’re dealing with someone so unstable that even the other progressives are disgusted by it.

Now that we’ve seen the depths of evil to which he can sink, I suggest we just let sleeping dogs lie rather than run the risk of him hurting anyone else. His own words speak for themselves.
