This photo speaks volumes about our armed forces. Instead of getting indignant about what was clearly an affront from the junior senator from Massachusetts, these troops were able to poke fun at one of the most pompous, arrogant politicians in our nation’s history and make him the brunt of the “joke.”
It’s an inspiration for all of us that a bunch of Minnesota National Guardsmen, in harm’s way so far away from home, would find such a satirical way of countering this insult. No outrage, no anger, just a little light hearted fun. I makes me at once both proud and humbled to have worn the same uniform as them.
