I am 24 years old today
Just for fun, caption this photo:
My entry: “Hillary Clinton greets the prducers of Sam Raimi’s upcoming film Evil Dead 3. The Senator is vying for the “queen of the undead role”. She is favored for the position because of the cost savings in makeup as well as fitting into the character’s role without much effort. ”
Also, here are some links from my favorite blogs:

Bo,
Happy 24th (a day late)! I hate to admit this, but when I turned 24, Richard Nixon was still President (he resigned later that year).
I like your links; hadn’t heard about the Miller boycott before. As for Giuliani, I think the comment about him being “a more charismatic version of Arlen Specter” is right on. I basically like the man (at least partly because he’s a big opera fan) and he did some great things for cleaning up NYC, but I wouldn’t want him elected president.
As for the caption contest, how about this:
Hillary: “What do you mean you’re supporting Condi Rice for President????”
Since this is an open thread, let me share the latest news about global warming:
I bet you didn’t know that global warming is being blamed for the growth of glaciers, too:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/tyne/5283278.stm
So, global warming causes the melting of glaciers, but it also causes the growth of glaciers? My sister-in-law’s philosophy professor once told her that a hypothesis that explains everything actually explains nothing.
I have thought a lot about that kind of thinking and how ludacris it is, too. If the earth heats up and we all burn to death, its global warming. If the earth cools down and we have another ice age, its global warming. It can happen in 2 years or it can happen in 10 years or even 1000, but it will happen.
Precisely. And the question that no one from the global warming crowd is willing (or able) to answer is this: What caused the globe to warm enough in the past to bring us out of seven ice ages?
The arrogance of believing that man can either cause or prevent global warming is reminiscent of the line from the old Bob Newhart routine about the Seven Lost Cities of the Incas, which I’ve posted here before, but IMHO still bears repeating:
“Our arrival at the third lost city happened to coincide with a total eclipse of the sun. The natives begged us to return the sun to their sky … which, or course, we did.”
Here’s some back-pedaling on the global warming threat:
