Check out “Michelle Malkin’s Essential List Of Links and More.” post on her site via digg.
The post is primarily in regards to an inflamitory photo posted at the huffington post depicting Joe Lieberman with the notorious “blackface.” The left never ceases to amaze. I am curious what Lamont has to say about beheviour like this.
While you’re at it check out dgg.com. It makes blogging easy and there are lots of cool articles on there.

The Lieberman/Lamont race next Tuesday could be a bellwether for the mid-term elections. I’ve seen anti-war Democrats split the party and alienate independents on two occasions in my lifetime.
In 1968, the anti-Vietnam demonstrations outside the Democratic National Convention (and how they were handled by Chicago mayor Dailey) turned off enough moderates to give Nixon the win against Hubert Humphrey, a classical liberal but not enough of an anti-war “purist” for the extremists because of his being Lyndon Johnson’s vice president.
Two years later, in my then home state of New York, one of the oddest senatorial races of all time took place. Aside from the Republican and Democrat parties, New York also has a Liberal and a Conservative party. The Liberals usually run the Democrat and the Conservative the Republican.
However, in 1970 the incumbent senator, Republican Charles Goodell was running against Democrat Richard Ottinger. Goodell, who was appointed by Governor Rockefeller to finish the term of the assassinated Robert Kennedy, was an outspoken critic of the Vietnam War. Ottinger, although a Democrat, was more moderate than Goodell on this issue.
As a result, the Liberal party ran Goodell (a Republican), and the Conservative party ran James Buckley (brother of conservative icon William F. Buckley). Goodell and Ottinger split the liberal vote, and Buckley was elected with a plurality of only 38%.
I doubt seriously that history will repeat itself in Connecticut (Republican candidate Alan Schlesinger is only at about 13%), but if enough moderates are turned off by all the in-fighting … well, you can’t blame a guy for dreaming.
I don’t know if you saw the debate between Liberman and Cheany during the first Bush election. I thought it one of the best I had ever seen. Both very civil very articulate very knowlegable. I thought without a doubt that the wrong two were running for president.
Joe’s current troubles are what made me start thinking about what had happened to real Democrats. Hard to believe Joe and piece of worthless flab like Kennedy are in the same party.
